Photo research 6: Alexander khokhlov

Oilpainted

The reason i chose this photograph as my Portrait photo research was because I love both the angle of the face as well as the colors that were painted on her. The photographer used a light source coming from in front of the face as their main lighting. and there are no background lights which add a nice contrast. The forwards facing light, reflecting off the paint give the photo a very vibrant feel because each color reacts to the light differently. One color could be more reflective compared to the color next to it, and this adds to the dimensions and feel of the photo. the painter also used the paint to highlight the darks and lights of her face, which the light helps to illuminate.
